Complete Required Coursework
Finish Pre-Licensing Education
South Carolina requires 90 hours of approved pre-licensing education for a salesperson license. This includes the 60-hour Unit I: Fundamentals of Real Estate course and the 30-hour Unit II: Advanced Real Estate Principles course. Unit I must be completed before you apply to take the licensing exam, while Unit II must be completed before you can receive your license.

Once SCREC approves your exam application, you can register with PSI to take the South Carolina real estate licensing exam. You must pass the required national and state portions of the examination to move forward with licensure. Can I get my South Carolina real estate license without immediately working for a brokerage?
Yes. You can receive a license without having a supervising Broker-in-Charge, but your license will remain inactive until you affiliate with one. You cannot perform licensed real estate activities while your license is inactive.
